How this painting came to be:

• The base layer is same for all my paintings

• As I apply each layer an inspiration comes to me

• The colors & strokes become deliberate

Tranquil Morning

Tranquil Morning’s tree line appeared as I was working on the sky. So many of my paintings are of the water so this painting needed to have the earth and sky versus water and sky. I love the color green-blue, soft and subtle. What I really love about working with the cold wax medium, is the scraping and removing of color, bringing richness and depth to the painting. as I was moving my squeegee across the painting, what I soon deemed as trees began to come into view. I felt such peace and tranquility at this moment and knew the painting was almost complete.
